After five years at the helm of Maison Alaïa, the Belgian designer brings a pivotal chapter in the history of the Parisian house to a close, having been the first successor to founder Azzedine Alaïa following his passing in 2017.

Although his departure has already been confirmed, Mulier will officially bid farewell in March, with the presentation of his final collection during Paris Fashion Week.

Through his obsession with the study of proportions and a respectful immersion in the maison’s archives, he succeeded in restoring Alaïa to the center of the cultural conversation, making it profoundly relevant to new generations.

Likewise, the Hooded Dress positioned itself as a masterful reinterpretation of the hooded silhouettes the founder turned into icons in the 1980s, restoring an air of mystery and elegance to the contemporary runway.

In this way, the architect of fashion navigates the world of luxury by achieving tangible functionality through design, guided by a unique sensibility. In his most recent Spring 2026 collection, Mulier pushed this discourse one step further.

Recognition for his work arrived at the end of last year, when he was named International Designer of the Year at the CFDA Awards, presented by the iconic Naomi Campbell, one of the house’s eternal muses.

Mulier leaves behind a strengthened Alaïa, with a clear identity and a solid bridge between the rigor of haute couture and contemporary cultural relevance.
