Acapulco, Guerrero (OEM).- Mr. Mario Vazquez Raña, president of the Pan-American Sports Organization (PASO), and Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), imposed the "Mario Vázquez Raña" medal to sport merit, to members of IOC and presidents of the international federations, for their important contribution to the sport.

The members of IOC that were awarded are Olegario Vázquez Raña, Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr., Ivan Dibos, Anita L. DeFrantz, Yumilka Ruiz, Fidel Mendoza Carrasquilla and Reynaldo González.

In the ceremony, Colin Moynihan, Alejandro Blanco and Charmaine Crooks were also awarded by their work in advantage of the sport.

By the federations, were awarded Harvey Schiller, Rene Roch, Hassan Moustafa, Marius Vizer, Klaus Schormann, Don E. Porter, Les McDonald, Kuno Ritschard, Bernard Lapasset, Antonio

Espinos and Dominique Boutineau, presidents of Baseball, Fencing, Handball, Judo, Modern pentathlon, Softball, Triathlon, Water-ski, Rugby and Basque ball-games, respectively.

All of them were applauded by the audience, who recognize they work.
