Mario Vázquez Raña presides the meeting of Executive Committee

Acapulco, Guerrero (OEM).- Mr. Mario Vázquez Raña, president of Pan-American Sport Organization (PASO), today will preside the meeting of Executive Committee of the organization, act with which will initiate the Olympic summit of America. To the inaugural session of the meeting, that it will transacted in the Gourmet salon of the headquarter hotel, with the attendance of the governor of the State, Zeferino Torreblanca Galindo. This Tuesday, Executive Committee members will analyze points including in the agenda of the XVLI General Assembly of PASO, which will be celebrated from Thursday, October the 9th, with the attendance of the 42 National Olympic Committees members that make the continental organization, and also with the presence of special guests. It had announced that in the Executive meeting, the Organizer Committee of XV Pan-American Games Rio 2007 will informed his results; it's also expecting the announce of the advances of Guadalajara 2011, hostess city of the next edition of the international joust. Themes to improve are transcendental to American Olympic sport, some of them around programs that PASO expects to established, with the objective of improve the competitive quality of high level athletes of the continent, facing to London 2012. Executive Committee members are: Mr. Mario Vázquez Raña, president; Michael Fennell, Jamaica, second vice-president; Jorge Nery Carvajal, Costa Rica, third vice-president; Felipe Muñoz Kapamas, Mexico, general secretary; Richard Peterkin, Santa Lucia, treasurer; Arlington Butler, Bahamas, member group one; Meliton Sanchez, Panama, member group one; Michael Chambers, Canada, member group one; Jose Ramon Fernandez, Cuba, member group two; Alphonso Bridgewater, Saint Kitts and Nevis, miembro grupo 2; Veda Bruno, Granada, member group two; Carlos Nuzman, Brazil, member group three, Nicole Hoevertsz, Aruba, member group three; K. A. Juman-Yassin, Guyana, member group three. The Executive Committee it's also integrated by Jorge Herrera Barona, Colombia, honorary member; Peter Ueberroth, USA, honorary member; Julio Cesar Maglione, Uruguay, vice president in America of National Olympic Committees Association; Antonio Mariscal, appositional secretary, and Jimena Saldaña, executive secretary. In the afternoon, PASO's president, Mr. Mario Vázquez Raña will offer a press conference in headquarter hotel's facilities. |
