"La Convención de ODEPA será un éxito"

ACAPULCO, Guerrero.- "Es una magnífica idea que por primera ocasión en la historia del movimiento olímpico, se efectúe una Convención donde participen en forma conjunta los ministros del deporte de América y los Comités Olímpicos Nacionales", expuso Julio César Maglione, a su llegada al hotel sede de la Cumbre del Olimpismo, que desarrollará la Organización Deportiva Panamericana, que preside don Mario Vázquez Raña.
Maglione, quien es presidente del Comité Olímpico de Uruguay, y miembro de Comité Olímpico Internacional, subrayó que ODEPA bajo el liderazgo de don Mario Vázquez Raña, se ha convertido en una de las organizaciones más importantes del olimpismo mundial.
Destacó que lo trascendental del III Congreso que se realizará el 12 de octubre, será el análisis sobre la relación existente entre los organismos de gobierno y los CON's:
"Este tema ha dado lugar a muchas polémicas, a muchas decisiones y situaciones desagradables".
Manifestó que si se establece con claridad cuáles son las obligaciones de los CON's y de los gobiernos, en todos los ámbitos en donde deben trabajar juntos, "que son muchísimos, claves y básicos", en un futuro se darán grandes beneficios.
Si los acuerdos que se tomen son importantes, se plasmarán en un documento básico que serviría a todo el mundo de ejemplo, "ya que hay problemas en América, pero también en otros continentes", agregó.
Recordó que en una pasada Asamblea de la ODEPA, hizo una exposición donde planteó la relación que debe existir entre los organismos olímpicos y los de gobierno.
Comentó que él está seguro de que las reuniones que se celebrarán en este puerto, serán un éxito. Las condiciones están dadas, ya que los acuerdos que se han dado en el pasado fueron benéficos para el movimiento olímpico de América.
"La organización ha tomado todos los recaudos necesarios para desarrollar este magno encuentro del deporte de América", concluyó.

"It's a marvelous idea that for the first time in Olympic Movement history, it carry out a summit where American Sport Secretaries and National Olympic Committees take part", Julio César Maglione expressed, in his arrival to headquarter hotel of the gathering that will transact the Pan-American Sport Organization, presiding by Mr. Mario Vázquez Raña.
Maglione, president of Olympic Committee of Uruguay an active member of International Olympic Committee, said that PASO, under leadership of Mr. Vázquez Raña, it had turned into one of the most important organizations in World Olympism.
He empathized that the transcendental point of the III Pan-American Olympic Sport Convention, in October the 12th; will be the analysis of the existent relationship between government institutions and National Olympic Committees (NOCs).
"This theme has caused a lot of controversies, much more decisions and, also, a few awful situations", but if is clearly established which are the obligations of NOCs and governments in each ambit that they must work together -"that's so many; all of them basic and key"-, sport future will be beneficiate.
If agreements that are taken are important, they will raised in a basic document that it will set it as example to everyone, "because America have problems, but that's the same around the world", he assured.
Maglione reminded a past PASO's assembly, where he made an exposition where he raised the ideal relationship that should exist between Olympic and government organisms.
He's also said that he's sure that the meetings on this paradisiac port will be a success, the conditions are given, since the agreements that have occurred in the past, were beneficial for the Olympic movement of America.
"The organization has taken all the needed preventions to develop this great meeting of American sport", he concludes.
